a) One (1) Crew Leader with a minimum of Sub-Leader certification and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Air Certificate.
b) Thee (3) Firetack members.
c) One (1) Driver, who must also carry a valid Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
i. Any individual who has a valid license and may be expected to drive must carry a
valid Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Ground Certificate to operate a
d) One person must be, at minimum, faller level chainsaw certified (Woodland Trainers
Association (WTA) Level III Faller) or Department recognized equivalent.
i. Anyone operating a chainsaw must be wearing CSA Chainsaw protective footwear
or footwear that meets or exceeds Class 2 or 3 cut protection.
e) No more than two (2) uncertified individuals for the position they are filling.
f) One (1) 4x4 truck as per Section 13 which will be paid as per Schedule “B”.
g) All individuals on the crew must have successfully completed ICS 100, WHMIS 2015
training as well as have valid First Aid Training (Minimum level - Standard First Aid certificate with CPR), plus any other training outlined in the Wildfire Management Certification and Qualification Manual and any safety training outlined in the contractor’s safety program.
On March 10th, 2020 ELEMENTS FIRETACK INC. Safety Manager and Officer completed training in the Alberta Forestry Products Association (AFPA) Joint Work Site and HSC & HSR. Safety is a priority at ELEMENTS FIRETACK INC.
On March 12th 2020 ELEMENTS FIREACK INC. signed a secondary contract with Alberta Agriculture and Forestry to supply 8 men firetack crews to battle Alberta Wildfires.
