On March 19, 2026, Elements Firetack Inc. received notice that the company was successful in the competitive contract bid for two Firetack Base Crews in the Fort McMurray Forest Area.
The award represents an important milestone in the continued growth of Elements and creates 16 additional seasonal employment opportunities for wildland firefighters.
With the addition of the Fort McMurray crews, Elements Firetack Inc. now holds five base-crew contracts across Alberta: two in Rocky Mountain House, one in Edson and two in Fort McMurray.
The addition of the Fort McMurray crews is another step in our commitment to building professional wildfire crews, developing Indigenous employment and leadership opportunities, and continuing to grow our capacity within Alberta’s wildfire industry.
