Professional Wildfire, Vegetation Management and FireSmart Services
Elements Firetack Inc. provides professional wildfire response, vegetation management and wildfire mitigation services throughout Alberta. Built on years of frontline wildfire experience, our crews bring strong safety systems, experienced leadership and proven field capability to every project
Through our Alberta Wildfire contracts, vegetation management services, FireSmart initiatives and capacity-development work, we work with government, Indigenous Nations, municipalities, utilities and industry to deliver safe, dependable field services.
Wildfire response
Wildfire response is the foundation of Elements Firetack Inc. As an Alberta Wildfire contractor, Elements provides trained Firetack crews, experienced leadership and specialized wildfire personnel in support of the Government of Alberta’s wildfire operations.
Our wildfire response services are provided exclusively through our contracts with the Government of Alberta and are not available for private subcontracting.
Indigenous Wildfire Capacity Development
While our wildfire response crews are dedicated to Alberta Wildfire operations, Elements can share the experience and knowledge we have gained in building our own organization.
We welcome opportunities to work with Indigenous Nations interested in developing or strengthening their own wildfire response initiatives. Through mentorship and capacity development, Elements can provide practical insight into crew development, training pathways, leadership development, safety systems, operational readiness and the organizational requirements involved in building a professional wildfire workforce.
Our experience began with a single secondary Firetack crew and has grown into multiple base crews supported by experienced Crew Leaders, Strike Team Leaders, Fallers and other trained personnel. We believe that experience can help Indigenous Nations develop wildfire capacity of their own while creating meaningful employment, skills development and leadership opportunities for their members.
vegEtation management
As Elements Firetack looks toward 2027, we are expanding our services into the vegetation management sector, building on the skills, equipment and field experience developed through our wildfire operations.
Our crews are accustomed to demanding outdoor environments, physically challenging work and safety-sensitive operations. With experienced leadership and a workforce highly trained in chainsaw operations, brushing and vegetation clearing, we believe our existing capabilities translate naturally into vegetation management.
Elements is available for brushing and clearing, vegetation and fuel reduction, right-of-way and access clearing, chainsaw operations, and other labour-intensive vegetation management projects.
We recognize that entering a new market means continuing to learn and build experience. Our approach is straightforward: bring experienced people, strong leadership, a proven safety culture and a willingness to work—and earn our reputation in this sector one project at a time.
Where projects occur within Indigenous traditional territories, Elements also seeks opportunities to work collaboratively with local Nations and communities to support employment, training, subcontracting and meaningful economic participation.
firesmart & wildfire mitigation
Building on our wildfire response experience, Elements Firetack is expanding into FireSmart and wildfire mitigation services with a focus on the practical, field-based work required to reduce wildfire risk.
Our crews understand wildfire environments and the role that vegetation and available fuels can play in fire behaviour. We bring that frontline experience together with trained chainsaw operators, experienced field leadership and a strong safety culture to support fuel-reduction and wildfire mitigation projects.
Elements can support projects involving vegetation thinning and removal, brushing, ladder-fuel reduction, debris and fuel management, and other field activities identified through FireSmart or wildfire mitigation planning.
For Indigenous Nations and communities, we are particularly interested in opportunities that combine wildfire risk reduction with local employment, training and capacity development. Our goal is not only to help complete the work, but to build relationships and strengthen community capacity along the way.
As we grow this area of our business, we are committed to working with experienced partners, following established FireSmart principles and continuing to build the knowledge and qualifications of our team.
indigenous partnerships and capacity development
Elements Firetack believes successful projects can create opportunities beyond the work itself. We seek meaningful partnerships with Indigenous Nations and communities that support local employment, training, subcontracting and economic participation.
Through our own workforce-development model, we have seen team members progress from rookies entering their first wildfire season to skilled chainsaw operators and emerging leaders. We want to bring that same commitment to capacity development into the partnerships we build.
